Director of Nursing Services -id-15287

As the site’s highest level of local nursing leadership, the Director of Nursing is expected to ensure that the quality of care delivered is collaborative, in compliance with all of the governing agencies, and supports the mission of KVC.

The DON is to serve as the voice of the nursing department and the liaison to hospital leadership team and utilize this role to improve processes from implementation and evaluation to maintenance. 

They also train/practice/model nursing duties by providing leadership and demonstrating skills proficient in age specific, developmentally and specialty appropriate nursing care to patients in accordance with legal and hospital policies and procedures.

Salary: Pay for this position based on previous experience.

Schedule: Full time, 40-hour work week.

Education: Master of Science in Nursing, currently enrolled in a master’s program with applicable experience, or documented and signed education plan.

Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas. ANCC certification as a psychiatric nurse is preferred.

Experience: At least two years of prior experience or equivalent training in psychiatric nursing required. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
